Guidelines for All Ringers
COVID Restrictions
All Ringers agree to stay home if experiencing ANY cold, flu, or COVID symptom within 10 days prior to the rehearsal, unless they have subsequently received a negative COVID PCR or RA test result.
See below for Symptoms of COVID and What To Do?
All ringers agree to stay home if testing positive for COVID within 10 days prior to the rehearsal.
Masks
Properly fitting N95 or KN95 or equivalent will be worn by all ringers and directors. Equivalent masks must be checked with directors. An example of an equivalent mask would be a high-quality, well-fitted surgical mask combined with a multi-layer, tight-weave cloth mask.
Chime In! will provide high-quality KN95 masks. Ringers may make donations toward the cost of masks, but donations are not required.
Social Distance
All efforts will be made to provide distance between ringers during rehearsals and performances. Ringers should be mindful of maintaining social distance.
Music Notebooks
All ringers will have their own music notebooks to be used for all rehearsals and performances. Music notebooks may be taken home, but music will not be available if they are not brought to each rehearsal.
Gloves
All ringers should wear clean gloves for rehearsals. Gloves should be laundered regularly.
Rehearsal Space
All rehearsals will be held in Bellamy Hall at First Church of Bethlehem or in an outdoor setting.
Two air-filtration units will be running throughout all rehearsals in Bellamy Hall.
Windows will be open when the temperature allows.
The total amount of time spent setting up, rehearsing, and cleaning up will not exceed:
For Ensembles of 6 or fewer:
2 hours with windows closed
4 hours with all windows open
For Choirs of 14 or fewer:
2.5 hours with all windows open
Note: Rehearsal Duration Guidelines are based on use of the COVID-19 Indoor Safety Guideline tool developed by Kasim Khan in collaboration with MIT Professors John W. M. Bush, and Martin Z. Bazant
Risk Assessment
Rehearsals may take place when the rate of transmission of COVID in western Connecticut is at minimal levels and the number of COVID cases has been trending downward for at least 14 days. The Chime In! Risk Assessment Committee or the Music Directors of Chime In! may cancel rehearsals at any time due to concerns regarding COVID trends.
Ringers should stay home if they have concerns regarding COVID risks at rehearsals.
